Daddy's First Day Back at Work

Today is Bryan's first day back to work after his paternity leave. As you can tell from the picture he's definitely going to miss us, and Caroline and I sure do miss him too.

As much as I would love to have Bryan home, today sort of marks the first day of getting back to some sort of normalcy and that is nice. Aside from a few outings, we've pretty much been in the hospital or at home for the last 3 weeks and it's easy for all of us to go a little stir crazy.
With Bryan going to work today, I'm on full-time mom duty and Caroline and I have our first big solo outing today too. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. This will be my first time getting her in the car by myself and first time driving us. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!

Caroline's First Restaurant Visit

We also braved public places last week and took Caroline to two different places to eat as well as a trip to Babies R Us. She slept through both restaurant visits and was a little challenging at Babies R Us but Bryan did a great job soothing her.

Here's a picture of us at the first restaurant we took her to - the Jolly Roger in Dana Point Harbor.

Caroline's First Bath

Caroline finally got her first bath at home this week. We got her all set up in her baby spa and she totally loved it. She loved it so much that she pooped in the tub. Fun for mommy and daddy!

Here's our bathing beauty!

Happy Mother's Day!

Now this day has a whole new meaning for me! Thank you to everyone who sent us and brought us flowers to celebrate Caroline's arrival and for my first Mother's Day!! As you can see, they're beautiful.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!!

Caroline Grace Pringle

My apologies for this being so late but our sweet and amazing Caroline Grace is here! She was born on April 30th at 5:29pm. She was 9lbs. 13oz. and 21 inches long. She was born via c-section but not for lack of trying. After 29 hours it was time to have a baby and c-section was how she wanted to make her grand entrance into this world.

Words really can't describe what it's like to have a daughter. All we want to do is look at her and soak it all in. It's definitely a love that we've never experienced before.

Because of the c-section we stayed in the hospital until May 4th so we've been home for a week now. We've had lots of help, visitors, and yummy meals!! Thank you!! The one thing we haven't had a lot of is sleep but I guess that is to be expected.

Bryan is on paternity leave until May 19th which is awesome. He's been an amazing husband, father and caretaker for me. I've been pretty limited in what I can do - no driving, no lifting, no bending over - and as you can imagine you have to do a lot of that to take care of a baby so Bryan and I have teamed up. He's changed all but 2 or 3 diapers I think. He's a pro already!

I'm feeling a little better everyday and am extremely overjoyed to be a mom. Caroline is a beautiful baby and such a blessing.

Bryan's dad put together this video. Hope you enjoy!! More pictures to come soon!
